Prevention First is the Illinois affiliate of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America (PDFA), distributing anti-drug TV, radio and print messages throughout the state. During 2003-2004, Illinois television stations donated more than $1 million worth of airtime for Partnership ads. In 2005, Prevention First became the first affiliate in the nation to launch a state Web site.

The Partnership’s public awareness campaign is a key element of drug prevention strategy in Illinois.
