First Receives Award from
Partnership
for a Drug Free America
Prevention First Executive Director Karel Ares (second from
left) and Director of Communications and Information Resources,
Tari Marshall (third from left), were presented with the Partnership
for a Drug-Free America's (PDFA) Affiliate Achievement Award
at it's national conference in November 2007 in San Antonio,
TX. The award was presented by PDFA President Steve Pasierb
(left) and Senior Vice President Teri Christensen (right)
for "outstanding achievement and effort going above and
beyond expectations."
Prevention First is the Illinois affiliate of the Partnership,
and was one of two state affiliates to win the award, along
with Utah. The winners were invited to present information
about their programs at the conference so that others might
learn from their experiences and possibly incorporate best
practices in their local markets.
