Prevention First training helps you meet the education requirements for certification as a prevention specialist in Illinois. The Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) provides an alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse preventionist certification similar to the alcohol and other drug abuse counselor certification. The guidelines for certification in Illinois are based on those used at the national level by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium. Continuing education units will be awarded at the completion of each eligible Prevention First program.
