“Children who fail at math don’t necessarily need more math.
They need to relieve the emotional tension that prevents them from focusing on the math they’re getting.”
Myrna B. Shure, Ph.D., researcher and program developer of I Can Problem Solve

Prevention First is pleased to offer training to preschools, elementary schools and out-of-school time programs in I Can Problem Solve (ICPS), an evidence-based, award-winning program that focuses on enhancing the interpersonal cognitive process and problem solving skills of children ages 4-12.

ICPS offers your school the ability to create a system-wide approach to achieve positive classroom climates, which creates additional teaching time and less time managing disruptions and conflict. This translates into higher school achievement and increased academic performance.

Prevention First’s ICPS training program is a powerful, two-day program in which participants will learn the principles of ICPS, including ICPS Dialoguing, a unique feature of this program that sets it apart from other life skills curricula. The training program helps teachers integrate ICPS concepts into standard academic curricula and the classroom environment. In addition, participants will leave with an action plan for implementing ICPS in their school or classroom.
