This training, conducted by KNS Learning Solutions, LLC, will help prepare facilitators to implement the All Stars Core & Booster program, so that their experience with All Stars is enjoyable and effective. This training will introduce participants to the research, theory, and concepts that underlie the program. The trainer will model methods while delivering lessons to training participants. Through mini-lectures, group discussions, and hands-on activities, training participants gain an understanding of All Stars' scientific but common sense approach. All Stars Core, designed for sixth or seventh grade students, is an interactive program to prevent alcohol and drug use, violence and premature sexual activity among middle school youth. The program focuses on five scientifically-reviewed strategies that have the greatest potential to decrease youth involvement with these behaviors. All Stars Booster, a program designed to be delivered one year after All Stars Core, includes nine 45-minute sessions that reinforce lessons learned in All Stars Core. All Stars Booster features the same highly interactive methods that characterize every All Stars program. The focus of All Stars Booster is on strengthening participants’ motivation to avoid high-risk behaviors by reinforcing idealism, positive norms, commitments, bonding, and parent/adult attention.

Note: Materials are not included with this training program; participants are required to bring their own Teacher's Manuals (All Stars Core version 3.1 and Booster version 3.1) and a student guide to the training. Participants who do not have current materials may obtain them from All Stars Prevention at http://www.allstarsprevention.com/new/index2.html (allow at least two weeks for delivery).
