In the past ten years, there has been increasing recognition that children who have been exposed to traumatic events can, like trauma exposed adults, develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). School personnel, therefore, need to be able to recognize post-traumatic stress reactions in children.

Mental Health in the K-8 Setting

Over the past decade, we have seen a disturbing increase in the identification of a variety of mental health issues in our elementary and, in particular, our middle school settings.
