11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
This is a Webinar event.

Target Audience: Counselors, Clinical Supervisors, Administrative/Leadership Staff

This training will first review the essential components of evidence-based Medications in Treatment (MAT) including mention of the several available medications utilized to support recovery from opioid use disorder, how the medications are best prescribed and administered, the support structures needed in place to prescribe these medications (e.g. monitoring, frequency of visits), and what needs to be considered when using these medications in special populations. Once reviewed, this training discuss challenges and opportunities for using technology (e.g. tele-health) to deliver these evidence based treatments remotely, the pros and cons of remote care, what specific technologies are available, privacy issues, and which aspects of MAT are more or less amenable to remote delivery given existing regulations and patient safety concerns.

Objectives:

1. Review best practices for MAT and challenges to delivering these best practices using remote technology such as tele-health

2. Discuss solutions to these challenges, empowering providers to deliver these practices safely and in line with current regulations

This webinar will be 30 minutes with an additional 15 minutes of Q&A with IDHS/SUPR.
