Youth Development Programs

Youth Development programs can give young people strategies for coping and developing resiliency.

Programs

Healing in Motion Series

The Healing in Motion series is four asynchronous workshops that allow youth to explore creative expression, connect with artists and storytellers, and engage in reflective practices that support self-discovery, emotional well-being, and personal growth.

From Trauma to Transformation: Healing Through Self-Expression

In this workshop, participants will explore their emotions through doodling, journaling, and painting. These activities will encourage self-expression and offer an opportunity to reflect on past challenges, especially those related to family dynamics, trauma, and emotional healing. Participants will also engage in affirmations that foster resilience, growth, and self-compassion.

Mindful Movement: Healing & Emotional Wellbeing

In this workshop, participants will engage in a mindful movement journey to reconnect with their bodies and emotions. Beginning with intention setting and a guided sun salutation to center the body, the session will move into expressive movement exploration. Participants will then create a short personal movement narrative that embodies their emotions or story, closing with reflective journaling.

Scars & Bars: Storytelling Through Hip-Hop

In this workshop, participants will explore how hip-hop, and storytelling can be powerful tools for coping, healing, and self-expression. Participants will reflect on their own life experiences and express them through writing. They’ll watch short clips of music videos, engage in reflective journaling, and create original lyrical lines that speak both to the world and to themselves.
