Identifying Policy Strategies that Address Alcohol Related Problems in a Community

Building upon the concepts introduced in the first webinar, participants will look at a hypothetical community to identify the most appropriate policy strategies to implement, based on contributing factors of the identified alcohol-related problem. The importance of using data to support efforts will be discussed, as well as how to develop political will, community support, and consensus for policy initiatives.

 

Objectives: Participants will:

  • Learn how to identify and select appropriate policy strategies to reduce alcohol related problems in a community.
  • Identify additional community data that can support the selected policy strategy.

Discuss the importance of developing political will and the importance of working with all sectors of the community to build consensus for support of policy initiatives
