Youth Impaired Driving in Illinois: The Scope and Risks

This is an Online Course event.

Each year, over one million young people drive after using alcohol or cannabis, but youth impaired driving is not inevitable. It’s preventable. This 30-minute course gives driver’s education teachers, health educators, school staff, and prevention advocates the information they need to understand the scope of the problem. During this course, you’ll explore Illinois-specific data on youth alcohol and cannabis use, crash and fatality trends, and key risk factors that make youth particularly vulnerable, such as adolescent brain development, risk perception, and social influence.
