Two new studies from the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention highlight the impact of direct-to-consumer (DTC) alcohol home delivery on drinking behaviors and alcohol-related outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The first study explores how the use of DTC alcohol home delivery is associated with higher alcohol consumption and greater negative drinking consequences, while the second study analyzes trends in alcohol-related online searches following changes to state DTC alcohol home delivery policy. These studies highlight implications for alcohol policy and recommendations to mitigate alcohol-related harms in the context of post-pandemic DTC policy changes.
